Media Credentials

The 53rd Annual Miss Rodeo America Pageant is just around the corner – December 1 -8 2007 in Las Vegas. Now is the time for all working media to request their official MRAP media credentials to cover the pageant.

TO REQUEST MEDIA CREDENTIALS, please print the DOMESTIC or the INTERNATIONAL Media Credentials Form (PDF file), fill it out completely, and either mail or fax immediately to:
Raeana Wadhams, MRAI Executive Director
27906 Cumbres Pueblo, Colorado 81006 719-948-4760 FAX

Form should be filled out completely. Please take a moment to fill out the form completely as this is essential to the credentialing process. This will allow us to plan accordingly and accommodate you properly during your visit to the Miss Rodeo America Pageant. So that we may, in fact, accommodate everyone, we are issuing press credentials only to working media.

Once the business office has received your request, you will receive a notification of its status and/or a confirmation letter from the MRAP media committee.

Contact media committee chairperson Sue Lynn Perry by emailing rodeotenn@aol.com or MRAP Executive Director Raeana Wadhams by emailing raeana@comcast.net.

NOTE: For media credentials for the WNFR, contact Ann Bleiker at 719-593-8840 or fax request to 719-548-4889. This must be done PRIOR to your arrival.

Domestic Media: Return request form prior to Nov. 15th for approval.
International Media: Return request form by Nov. 1 for approval.
Independent/Freelance Media: Return request form by Nov. 1 for approval.

Domestic, mainstream media requests after Nov. 15th will be handled on site at the pageant. ALL INDEPENDENT/FREELANCE MEDIA AND ALL INTERNATIONAL MEDIA MUST HAVE ADVANCE APPROVAL. No Exceptions.

To all others, we would appreciate the favor of a phone call to the business office at 719-948-9206 if you plan to issue a late request. After Thanksgiving, all pageant personnel can be reached at The Orleans Hotel in Las Vegas at 702-365-7111

Also, if you'll review the tentative schedule, you will see that the contestants operate on a very tight timetable. They will not have any free time away from the pageant. This is why it is imperative that you plan ahead for your coverage and must allow the media committee to assist you in coordinating interviews and photo sessions for individual contestants, committee volunteers, staff, sponsors or others.

Key events to cover include the contestant introductions on Saturday, Dec. 1 in The Orleans, the horsemanship competition on Monday, Dec. 3 at The South Point, the fashion show on Tuesday evening, Dec. 4, and the coronation ceremony on Saturday morning Dec. 8. More key events will be announced later.

PLEASE NOTE: The only occasion to photograph the contestants on horseback is during the horsemanship competition on Monday, Dec. 3 at The South Coast.

There will be an official media conference for all credentialed media to interview and photograph the 2008 Miss Rodeo America, following the coronation ceremony on Sat. Dec. 8, at approximately 12:30pm in a designated room (TBA) inside The Orleans. This will be the best opportunity provided for all media to interview the new Miss Rodeo America. Thereafter, she will be extremely busy with her duties as PRCA’s First Lady of Rodeo. However, if additional coverage is necessary, notify MRAP Executive Director Raeana Wadhams or Sue Lynn Perry as soon as possible. Effort will be made to accommodate every media request.

NOTE TO INTERNATIONAL MEDIA: Along with your credential request, provide your sample work in both native language and an English translation. And, international media must commit to coverage of entire pageant event.

NOTE TO ALL MEDIA: You are advised to not make travel plans to cover the Miss Rodeo America Pageant until you have received written verification that your credential request is being granted. International media will be notified by Nov. 15th. Domestic media will be notified by Nov. 20th.

If you have specific questions or concerns about obtaining the coverage you need, please contact Sue Lynn Perry in advance of the pageant to discuss your proposed storyline. Sue Lynn Perry's email address is rodeotenn@aol.com. Phone is 901-230-4000.

We look forward to seeing you in Las Vegas Dec. 1 – 8 for the 53rd annual miss Rodeo America Pageant in conjunction with world class professional rodeo action of the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo.

SPECIAL NOTE for 2008 Pageant: Only news media or magazine media requests will be considered this year. No documentary or program production will be allowed at this time due to a licensing agreement in which MRAP Inc. is currently engaged. Program producers are encouraged to check back with us next year.
